Most bookkeepers hand you clean books.
I hand you decisions.
Thirty years in enterprise finance transformation, including 16 at Deloitte, now working for your business, whatever you sell and however you are set up. I keep your books clean, current, and reconciled, then go further into the management reporting that shows what actually makes you money and where your next dollar of profit is hiding. Certified on both major cloud accounting platforms, serving businesses nationwide.
Clean books are the foundation. Growth is the point.
Most bookkeepers stop at reconciled accounts and a standard profit-and-loss statement. I bring three decades of enterprise finance transformation, including 16 years at Deloitte, to something most small businesses never get: management reporting that actually drives decisions.
- ✓Management reporting, not just statements. The numbers that guide decisions: which customers, services, and projects truly make you money.
- ✓Revenue, margin, and profit growth. I show you where your margins slip and where your next dollar of profit is hiding.
- ✓Enterprise rigor, right-sized. The discipline that keeps a large company's books clean, sized and priced for your business.
- ✓Certified on both major cloud accounting platforms. I hold current advisor certifications from Intuit and Xero, so I can work wherever your books live and grow with you from solo to multi-entity.
Built around how your business runs, not which industry it is in
Service firms, contractors, retailers, professional practices, online sellers, and everything in between. The industry changes; the discipline does not. What really shapes the work is the stage you are at, and the books grow with you.
Owner-operated businesses
Clean monthly books, business and personal kept apart, receipts captured, and quarterly set-aside figures so tax time is calm.
What is includedGrowing teams
Payroll tied out, bills and receivables tracked, and reporting by customer, project, location, or service line as the business adds moving parts.
Management reportingMulti-entity companies
Separate books for each company, intercompany activity handled, and the consolidated view owners and lenders ask for.
How pricing worksSimple, flat-rate bookkeeping
Whatever you do and whatever your size, the fundamentals come standard: clean, current books and reporting you can actually use.
Monthly bookkeeping
Reconciled accounts, categorized transactions, and clean financial statements every month, so you always know where you stand.
Catch-up & cleanup
Behind on your books? I get you current, organized, and ready for tax season, quoted up front before any work begins.
Software setup & migrations
A chart of accounts built for your business, set up and maintained so your reports make sense. Still on desktop software? See how a cloud migration works.
Quarterly tax set-aside
I track what to set aside and keep the numbers ready for your CPA, so April is never a surprise.
Management reporting
Beyond a standard P&L: the numbers that show what drives your revenue, margin, and profit, so you can decide with confidence.
Works with your CPA
I keep audit-ready books so your CPA can plan and file, not clean up. We work alongside each other.
A flat monthly fee, built from your real numbers
Choose a flat monthly package or an hourly rate. Package fees come from the actual work in your books, so a quiet one-person business and a busy multi-location company each pay for what they need. These packages show where most businesses land.
Each figure is a starting point. Prefer to pay for time used? An hourly rate is also available, which suits businesses with seasonal peaks and valleys or other specific needs. Your package fee is set after we review two or three months of your statements together, and your accounting software subscription can be bundled into it at no markup.
You do not need to be big to get your books done right. Whether you are a team of one or a company of many, you get the same enterprise-grade rigor, sized and priced for where you are today, and ready to grow when you do.

What areas does Obie Bookkeeping serve?
Obie Bookkeeping is based in Indio, in the Coachella Valley, but the bookkeeping work reaches much further. Bookkeeping and management reporting are handled remotely, so I work with businesses across California and nationwide. Mobile notary and loan signing are the exception: those require me to come to you in person, so they are offered within 50 miles of Indio.
Do you work with businesses in my industry?
Almost certainly. I work with service firms, contractors, retailers, professional practices, online sellers, and owners running more than one company. The fundamentals of clean books are the same everywhere, and the reporting is built around how your business actually earns: by customer, project, location, or service line. If your industry has special requirements, we will cover them on the first call.
How much does bookkeeping cost?
Most clients choose a flat monthly package built from their real transaction volume. Representative packages start at $250 per month for Essentials, $375 for Standard, $1,125 for Growth, and $2,325 for Full-Charge, and your exact fee is quoted after we review two or three months of your statements together. If your business has seasonal peaks and valleys or other specific needs, you can choose an hourly rate instead and pay only for the time your books take. See how pricing works.
Is accounting software included, or do I pay for it separately?
Either way works. Your accounting software subscription can be bundled into your monthly fee at no markup, billed through my advisor account so you do not need to buy your own license. If you already have your own subscription and prefer to keep it, that is fine too, and your monthly fee is adjusted to reflect that the subscription is not being provided.
Can you move us off desktop accounting software?
Yes. I hold advisor certifications on both major cloud accounting platforms and handle desktop to cloud conversions end to end: the file assessment, cleanup, test conversion, tie-out, cutover, and training. If staying on desktop is the right call for now, I will tell you that too. See how a migration works or download the free decision guide.
Are you a CPA, and can you file my taxes?
No, I am not a CPA, and today Obie Bookkeeping provides bookkeeping only, producing clean, audit-ready books and quarterly estimated-tax figures your CPA or tax preparer uses to file. Starting in 2027, I will be able to prepare and file taxes as a service. Even then, I recommend that your CPA review the prepared return before it is actually filed.
Do you offer notary or tax preparation services?
Notary services are available now. I am a commissioned California notary public and an NNA Certified Notary Signing Agent, providing mobile notarizations and loan signings anywhere within 50 miles of Indio. You can request an appointment on the notary page. Tax preparation is planned for tax season 2027.
